“The Wise and the Wicked” is an amazing novel that includes Fantasy and magical realism. The author of this novel is Rebecca Podos and this is her third novel. The story has a character named Ruby Chernyavsky when she was a child she has been told a lot of stories. There was a woman who possessed great magical abilities. She staves off the death and she has the ability to remark lives. They were forced to flee their Russian home because a fearful man was trying to destroy them, so they escaped. Now Ruby did not believe in those stories and they were just folktales to her but one smallest bit of power that was left in their blood seems to be real to her. When the age comes and she dies, she will have the vision of who she will be. Ruby’s mother ran from her fate and left Ruby and her sisters all alone. After some time the aunt Polina died and Ruby’s death does not match her vision for the first time. Ruby and her cousin Cece started to dig their family history in order to search if they can change their fates. We would highly recommend this novel to those who are looking for the horrifying and mysterious novel.
