Tim is the creative genius behind Batman, Ed Wood, Beetlejuice, and The Nightmare Before Christmas, among others. Tim began his career at Disney, where his first project was a six-minute tribute to Vincent Price. The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories is filled with very dark humor, irony, and beautiful metaphors. Once you read this book it is very easy to understand the origins of Edward Scissorhands. A guy with scissors instead of hands who couldn’t possible physical contact with anyone. Furthermore, this poem that gives title to the book is just unbelievable and the best poem of the book. How love can lead to cruelty and the unhappy fate of the poor oyster boy will leave you with a sensation of sadness. To sum it up, The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories is an interesting and informative book for the readers.

Each storyline had a richness that was only strengthened by the comparison and contrast to the other.
