The whole theme of the story revolves around a crazy, courageous, pure soul and a gorgeous girl called Margaret Simon. She has long hair, the smell of rain and tuna fish. She shifts from New York to Farbook. She makes friends and shares all type of secrets with them i.e about by friend, bras and also about her first periods.
She is happy to belong but suddenly a strange thing happens that is very shocking news for her friends. She tells them that she has no religion and she directly talks to God about everything i.e family, friends, Moose Freed, and her secret crush. She tells them she has the only relation with God and not belongs to the Jewish community centre. In short, she is funny, real and relatable. The novel covers puzzles and many clues with multiple possible answers that make you dig for the right one.
